Who works at hex3Dcrafts?

It's just me, Hex! This is a hobby shop purely fueled by my passion to 3D print.  I am currently Active Duty. Please be patient when it comes to communication and the 3D printing process. I do not allow the shop to interfere with my job.

Why are the colors available for the marker block and accents different?

This is due to the type of filament (and its strength) for each color; I use the stronger PLA+ filament for the structural integrity of the product and regular PLA for accents because they typically have a wider (and prettier) range of colors available.
*If you would like to accept the risk of a not-as-strong marker block because you looooove a certain color, annotate the color you'd like in the customization section of your order.

Is it okay that my 3D print has imperfections?

Yes! 3D printing is such an abstruse process with elements within and beyond my control at times. While I always strive for the perfect print, I have begrudgingly learned to be practical. I aim to create a quality custom 3D print that is functional and carefully handled during post-processing.

How long does the 3D printing process take?

Once your order is next in my queue, the entire process can take 1-3 weeks.

———
1. Design.

First, I confirm that I can print your requested symbol. Then, it takes 1-3 hours to design the block with your custom modifications.

.

2. Customer Approval.

We will work together to perfect the marker block of your dreams. Once approved, I will get to printing.

.
3a. Print.

Based on the average order (6 marker blocks), 3D printing takes 3-6 hours. (Multi-colored or larger blocks inherently take longer.)

.
3b. Trial & Error.

If the block or lid print fails, a day or two will be added. Homegirl has to investigate the contributing factors of failure, modify the printing specifications, and reattempt the print. I will email you if it will take longer than expected.

.
4. Post-processing.

Inspecting, cleaning up, and testing the print's functionality takes 1-2 hours. If it doesn’t function properly or I’m unsatisfied with the quality, we’re back to Step 3!

.
5. Shipping.

Parcel drop-off is within 1-3 days after order fulfillment. You will receive a tracking number.  Shipping can take 3-5 business days. Local delivery will be on the next duty day.

What is PLA and how do I take care of my 3D print?

Polylactic acid (PLA) is biodegradable thermoplastic monomer derived from renewable, organic sources such as corn starch or sugar cane.

Please avoid temperatures of 150-170°F for extended periods of time (direct sunlight in cars during the summer); this may cause warping. For more instructions, please visit my installation/care page.
